Persian area rugs are mostly crafted in Asian countries like Pakistan, India Afghanistan and Persia. But the famous rug waving country is Persia which is widely known today as Iran. Rug and carpet weaving started only in a small family business, women helped to double the income of the family by weaving, such as rugs until such time that big factories hire women who will weave for their export business.

The exportation of Persian area rugs begins in sixteenth century and gain wide acceptance of the world industry. Americans, Germans and other races started to adopt this kind of business until they get influenced by Persia by the way of adopting how they style and weave rugs.

Today, Iranian women have been into the business of area rug weaving and it becomes a very great source of income. The economic condition of Persia becomes better when the carpet products have been exported which becomes their major product. It becomes major source of their wealth and also their treasure as they named Persian rugs to antique area rugs which signified how old and worth to be treasure.
